Where I travelled in Europe

Okay, so I’ve just spent the past four months of my life travelling around Europe, and yes it was everything I had ever dreamed of and more. The good news for you (whoever you may be) is that I now have lots to share! Far too much to cover in a short amount of time, and really I should have been blogging along the way; instead I spent my ‘free time’ reading and falling asleep in various places along the mediterranean coast, but whose complaining?

I’ve written a list of all the places I visited, more for myself than anything, but I might as well share it. I’ve had a few diverging thoughts about how to approach the content for my blog, but I have come to the conclusion that I’d like to keep it very subjective and experiential. I didn’t do a tonne of research before venturing out and so I’m not about to regurgitate facts and figures and the cliche ‘must see sights’ etc. I’m here to talk about my experiences, good and bad, my thoughts, feelings, and subjective opinions; what I would definitely recommend and what I would possibly change if I could. Here, to start, is a list of all the places I visited in Europe. If any of these places are of particular interest, please comment and I can tell you moreabout my experience.

I structured my trip in such a way that I had the freedom to move around and change dates, but also the knowledge that I was safe, and could get from A to B easily. Before leaving, I pre-booked BusAbout’s unlimited Europe Hop on Hop Off trip, which includes unlimited travel around their specified route during the summer months. I also booked one week sail in Croatia with Topdeck, and a two week tour in Turkey with Geckos. Bus About gave me the freedom the leave to do these tours and come back to join the bus, which really was amazing.

Here is the list!

Paris, Brugge, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Munich, Salzburg, Vienna, Krakow, Budapest, Split, Sail Croatia (Milna, Hvar, Korcula, Dubrovnik, Mjlet, Makarska), Venice, Rome, Amalfi coast, Florence, Cinque Terre, Lake Como, Swiss alps, Nice, Barcelona, Athens, Greek Island (Mykonos, Santorini, Ios, Milos), Turkey (highlights were Istanbul, Antalya, Cappadocia, & Pamukkale), Barcelona (again!), Lagos, Lisbon, Porto, Santiago de Compostela, San Sebastian, Munich (Oktoberfest), and finally, London.
